Veteran’s Day - Become Toughened For The Battle

This weekend the country recognizes Veteran’s Day.  A day to honor the men and women that have served our nation in the US military.  Call 2 Duty was founded on a framework of training taken from the military because the spiritual parallels for men who are engaged in spiritual combat speak to our hearts in a clear way.  The scriptures, inspired by the Holy Spirit, are written by “veterans” in a sense.  Men who have walked the path, fought the fight, and still speak to us of the lessons we need to learn, the paths we need to choose, the training we need to engage in, so that we will be true members of Christ’s army.  Read the Psalms - it’s not the easy path -  David is frequently crying out to the Lord because of the difficulty he is experiencing, the battles he is trying to fight and win, and always the Lord, His Grace, is present.

St. Paul in 2 Cor 12 after he has asked the Lord to take away a certain difficulty is told by the Lord “My power is made perfect in weakness”.  Later in that chapter, St Paul is “content” with trials, persecutions, difficulties, for the sake of Christ – that’s a tough dude.  That’s a veteran of combat.  The truth of all of us men living today is that we are soft, that’s the bottom-line up front.  We choose the easy road and have done so for a long time.  Think I’m wrong?  How’s the culture you live in?  Men were born to and designed for leadership and combat on behalf of the innocent and weak as evidenced by the life of Jesus.  Respond to your call.

We will be having our first annual Veteran’s Day C2D Ruck March this Saturday, Nov 11, 2023, starting at 0630 from 1441 Reynolds St, Augusta, GA.  Come carry a ruck and let’s pray that we may be toughened for the battle “through Christ who strengthens me.”

P.S. I'm praying for rain.
