“...Nevertheless, when the Son of man comes, will he find faith on earth?” This passage from Luke 18:8 is a great reflection for us during this season of Advent. We are preparing for the coming of Jesus, yes at Christmas, but let us keep in our sight the final coming of Jesus in his glory at the end of time. When He comes, will He find faith on earth...in my heart, in your heart? Will he find the faith in our hearts as central to our very being, or will it be placed aside in a corner of our heart that we get out on Sundays. Is it living in you, at the center of your heart, your gut, your mind? Is your life ordered and directed by this faith?
It is time for some room clearing! It is time for some close quarters battle, to go into our hearts and deal with any darkness or obstacles that are working against centralizing faith, establishing Jesus as the sole ruler of our lives. As warriors we must make straight the path for the coming of the King (Isaiah 40:3). Clear the paths in your heart, in your life, because the King is coming. Here’s your mission: talk with a brother this week about the things in your life that you need to address and clear in order to make ready your heart for what Jesus is waiting to do in your life.
